Jasmyn
I’m a college student working toward my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, excited to build a career in the tech world. I hope to find a role where I can be creative, learn new skills, and help make everyday life easier through technology. My goal is to keep growing, both personally and professionally. In the future I hope to open my own business.

Jaylah
Hi, my name is Jaylah! I am an undergraduate student at Bowie State University studying Child Development Psychology. I plan to use my degree to one day create my own therapeutic practice, and further research how childhood experiences affect adulthood behavior/experiences. My research will be especially dedicated to the uplifting of black youth and black homes.

Lauryn
Hello! My name is Lauryn, and I am a rising junior in high school. I joined DFC mentoring program when I was about 13. Now, I am about to be 17, and I am extremely proud to be in this group. EMPOWHER is uplifting and inspiring, helping me gain confidence by participating in dances at different events, and speaking in public places. They are uplifting as well. When I told them about my evolving bracelet business, I was met with praise and encouragement. In the future, I see myself becoming a nurse and traveling to Haiti, where my dad is from, and helping the citizens acquire sufficient healthcare. While achieving my dream, I know that EMPOWHER will continue to encourage and support me and my goals! Thanks for reading!

Azariah
I’m currently pursuing my bachelors degree at Shepherd University. My major is Criminal Justice with a concentration in forensics and this is also my last semester so I will be graduating after this. As of right now I’m looking towards an internship with Probation and Parole I’m very excited for this opportunity because it will allow me to step foot into the criminal justice system if I get accepted for this internship. I also currently work at a women’s drug and alcohol recovery center which allows me to see more into the drug aspect of the law and work with ladies to help them with their recovery. As for my future plans, once I graduate I plan to take a semester off and purse my masters degree while also looking into career opportunities with my degree as well. I am currently unsure what career I want but I’m interested in a lot of different fields because of the multiple things I have been doing.
